"We recently hired "the word" for our wedding in Twickenham.  

I would like to thank Nick and the rest of the band for playing such an important part in our big day.

We spent a lot of time scouring the internet looking for the right band.  Many of the people we contacted were slow to get back to us and some did not bother at all.  
I'm glad to say that the communication from Nick was excellent from the very first point of contact, and he never failed to keep me up to date with any ideas or new developments.  
On the big day "The Word" were punctual, professional and well organised.  That just leaves the music, it was brilliant!  The band also performed a number for our first dance that was outside their usual repotoire which really added to the occasion.  

I would highly recommend the word for any gig or function, they are a class act"!

"I just want to thank you and all the band for making our joint 18th and 50th birthday party such a brilliant success.
We had 17 to 86 year olds and I can honestly say you had them all up dancing. The Word's performance brought them all together - it was quite incredible. The playlist you put together was perfect for the night. And the kids really appreciated mixing with the band in between sets. In my son's words - "it was the best night I've ever had"

MEET THE BAND

Stevie Watts - is an award winning keyboard player  playing with Jack Bruce, PP Arnold, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave !)Lulu, Kiki Dee, Secret Affair, Steve Winwood, Arthur Brown,Mary Coughlan, Roland Gift, James Maddock, Lisa Mann, Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion, Archive, Terry Hall and has supported bands such as Duran Duran on arena tours.

Rocco Webb - has played his ‘60 vintage drums live onstage with artists including Amy Winehouse, Cerys Matthews, Backbeat Beatles and was signed to Kaiser Chiefs’ record label. Proud to be a founder member of ‘The Word’ band.

Nick Bird - Mercury prize nominee, and published songwriter. Nick has  played tours all over Europe with his work with the  Bootleg Beatles, and performing with Pete Best Amongst others

Paul Mannion -  A massively talented multi instrumentalist ,and session player working with Ken Nelson, Coldplay"s producer, and has toured with Blondie and Elvis Costello He has also been wowing crowds with his work in the international show ‘Let it Be’  and is a massive Queen ELO and Beatles fan
